Wholeness Glow Counselling supports parents in the cleft community who struggle with the emotional and psychosocial impacts that a cleft condition brings spanning prenatal care through adolescence. As a mother of 3, I have gone through the cleft journey myself and as a mother. It was my personal experience that inspired me to offer specialized counselling support to families in the cleft community.
If you are an expectant or new parent who recently learned that your baby has a cleft lip and/or palate, you may be experiencing feelings of shock, sadness, guilt, grief, shame, and despair. You may struggle with anxiety and no longer enjoy your pregnancy. You worry about your birth, how to feed your baby, medical procedures, and surgeries. I understand that a cleft diagnosis can bring a range of distressing emotions. Coping and adjusting to this new reality can be challenging and overwhelming but you are not alone!
Counselling can be an invaluable resource for new parents expecting a baby with a cleft lip and/or palate. I help you work through difficult emotions, ease worries, unleash inner strength, and develop coping strategies so that you can enjoy the rest of your pregnancy, and embark on the cleft journey with confidence and ease.
